I didn’t like this as much as the first book。 It was still very enjoyable though。My biggest problem in this one was Cole。 Wtf happened to him? He was so annoying in this book。 He treated Rust like garbage through most of it。 I felt so bad for Rust。

As sequels go this is a pretty good one。 As with the first book this was so much fucking fuuuuun!! I love the times where out of the blue PANG! a gory scene that i actually didn’t see coming and was spiced things up。 This reminds me of my favourite saga of scary movies, Scream。 I love a good old slasher, i love the main characters, the small town vibes。 Everything about Clown in a Cornfield, both 1 and 2 Frendo lives, are on point, vibing and yeah。 I am hoping we get more sequels to this to magn As sequels go this is a pretty good one。 As with the first book this was so much fucking fuuuuun!! I absolutely loved this。 The first one was fantastic and I was very excited when this one was announced。 The writing was engaging and fast paced, the story never felt like it was dragging on or dull, and the characters are interesting and less dumb than typical slasher characters。 I highly recommend this series to anyone who is a fan of the slasher genre。

Omg this book was amazing! Reading about their lives after the Baypen Massacre and then it being turned upside down by Frendo again was a wild ride and I loved it! That ending though!!! That ending!! I loved the first book but I love this one more。 Quinn, Cole, and Rust each are doing their best to live their lives as normal as they can after what happened in Kettle Springs but that’s all about to come crashing down once Frendo makes a comeback and he’s not alone。 Some people believe what happen Omg this book was amazing! Was it real or was it fake? What do you believe? All I can say is Adam Cesare doesn’t disappoint in his writing and his story lines and I swear if there’s a 3rd book I’ll be pre ordering and screaming happily。 。。。more

A fantastic follow-up to Clown in a Cornfield。 It's slower than the original, taking more time to build up to the violence while the protagonists, on edge from the first novel's events, jump at every little thing knowing conspiracy theorists hate them。 It follows up on the original well, in a way that should be unbelievable but today makes a horrifying amount of sense given how mainstream some conspiracy theories are。 While the original doesn't contain much LGBT content, Friendo Lives is far mor A fantastic follow-up to Clown in a Cornfield。 It's slower than the original, taking more time to build up to the violence while the protagonists, on edge from the first novel's events, jump at every little thing knowing conspiracy theorists hate them。 It follows up on the original well, in a way that should be unbelievable but today makes a horrifying amount of sense given how mainstream some conspiracy theories are。 While the original doesn't contain much LGBT content, Friendo Lives is far more open, not just exploring Rust and Cole's relationship (something the first book only brought up at the end) but having gay Hunter and trans lesbian Jerri as important characters too。 Quinn and Jerri's PTSD stemming from the first massacre made for tense moments even when there's no overt threat and it made the truly threatening moments harrowing。 I cared about every single one of the protagonists and wanted them to make it out safe。There's not as much violence and mayhem as I hoped but what's there is good and gory。 My main issue is that some details don't feel properly foreshadowed, requiring an explanation immediately before when it could've been placed earlier。 The book's also extremely White; there doesn't seem to be any major characters of color。 A satisfying, timely sequel。 I don't know if I need a third book but if there is I'm absolutely reading it。 。。。more

This book manages even more of a true slasher feel than the first while still delivering big scenes and plot twists。 Further modernizing the slasher tropes, this book is an example of a sequel done well that builds on the success of the first。

The first Clown in A Cornfield book took me by surprise, with author Adam Cesare’s capacity to write a novel that evokes the exact same emotional rollercoaster you get when watching a classic slasher film。 The anticipation and the mystery, the jumps and the shocks, and the full-body excitement as the final act crescendos and we see just who survives the bloodbath。The sequel does not disappoint at all。The same cinematic energy pulses through this second tale of teenagers and townsfolk beset by ve The first Clown in A Cornfield book took me by surprise, with author Adam Cesare’s capacity to write a novel that evokes the exact same emotional rollercoaster you get when watching a classic slasher film。 The anticipation and the mystery, the jumps and the shocks, and the full-body excitement as the final act crescendos and we see just who survives the bloodbath。The sequel does not disappoint at all。The same cinematic energy pulses through this second tale of teenagers and townsfolk beset by vengeful killer clowns, this time with even more modern societal horror lifeblood pumping through its veins。 Sure, a group of killer clowns are scary enough on their own, but when you blend that slasher figure with the paranoia and misinformation-fueled anger of folks on the fringe, it gets dark because it feels all too real (luckily Cesare also know that, like in real life, most of the whackjobs who’d have the nerve to try and commit clown mob violence are idiots and cowards)。 Also, he manages to craft an engaging and likeable team of heroes through the three main survivors of the last book - and yes, they are smart enough that you’ll never be hollering at your book for them ‘not to go in there!’Come for the phenomenal concept, stay for the excellent writing that’ll have you staying up far too late at night to finish it, because like any good horror story you’ll want to keep reading until the last body has hit the floor。 。。。more

I thoroughly enjoyed CIAC 1, for its campy horror and gratuitous violence。 CIAC 2 is slightly less violence, gore, and horror, though。 It’s slightly more mature。 And while 99% of the plot lines are wrapped up…I’m still waiting for CIAC 3。

Whoah! Sometimes the sequel is better and in my opinion, this is the case with Clown in A Cornfield 2: Frendo Lives, the follow-up to Adam Cesare’s killer clown teen slasher from 2020。 The stakes are higher, the kills are gorier, the emotion sits deeper。 One of those books that keeps the action going throughout, there’s rarely any quiet moments that lets you put the book down, which is why I read this in two sittings!

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I was so saddened by this! (2 1/2 star)Frendo Lives could not live up to the first book。 I was expecting a fun slasher similar to the first one, but no one even gets injured until after 100 pages! It took entirely too long to set up, and then the kills weren't even that great, or a sufficient amount。 The entire thing reminded me more of a Purge-styled thriller and less of a fun slasher。 The end with the town kids fighting back was nice, but once the fighting starts they're never mentioned again。 I was so saddened by this! Frendo Takes Philly? Frendo Returns? I want it all baby! 。。。more
